Best Conference Paper Prize
The Student Section of LASA invites submissions for its Best Conference Paper Award 2025. All unpublished papers that will be presented at LASA 2025 by registered members of the Student Section are eligible. In a change from previous years, we will have two different categories for the awards: Graduate and Undergraduate awards. This change is to recognize and celebrate our undergraduate members alongside graduate students.
Graduate Award: Two (2) winners will receive a cash prize of US$ 200, a certificate, and the titles will be announced at section activities during the congress and the section newsletter.
Undergraduate Award: One (1) winner will receive a cash prize of US$ 200, a certificate, and the titles will be announced at section activities during the congress and the section newsletter.
Submissions must be part of the LASA 2025 Congress program, and they must be unedited (neither published nor accepted for publication). They can be written in Spanish, Portuguese, or English, and may have one or more authors. LASA members from any field are welcome to apply, and we are particularly interested in interdisciplinary perspectives. The winning papers will resonate with the section’s mission to promote the academic and professional development of the students interested in the study of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Authors should submit papers with author information removed as a PDF to lasastudentsection@gmail.com by Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:59 pm EST. The winners will be notified by email at the beginning of March.
The winners will be chosen by a committee composed of the chair and other members of the Student Section of LASA. We invite members of the section who would like to be part of the Best Conference Paper Award 2025 Committee to reach us at lasastudentsection@gmail.com.
